Our Mexican copper bathtubs are handmade pieces of copper that are carefully manufactured by our artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, a small town situated in Michoaca, central Mexico. Santa Clara del Cobre literally translated as 'Saint Clara of Copper', is so-called because many people living there are dedicated to the production of hand hammered copper crafts, using ancient traditional methods. The craft of working with copper has been passed down from generation to generation and every member of the family works to preserve this ancient art, creating splendid copper bathtubs, copper sinks and other copper crafts. Environmentally, copper is one of the friendliest metals around. Copper never goes bad and it can be recycled over and over again. It actually has the highest recycling rate of any engineering metal in the world.
