Highlighting Tiles - Copper Tiles

The rise of the copper tile was born from our natural desire to create stunning new environments. We have always searched for ways to differentiate our home from others but most importantly to express ourselves in our own unique way, bringing our style, our ambience and our personality to life. Since 6000 B.C., copper was regarded as a precious metal and used by Egyptian pharos for making beautiful jewelry. Ever the pioneers, the Egyptians discovered how to hammer native copper into sheets, making tools for building and ornaments such as tiles to decorate their homes and communal buildings. They recognised that copper was resistant to corrosion and so would not be prone to rust and hence the copper tile was chosen for beautifying Egyptian buildings. Nowadays, decorative handcrafted copper tiles are finding their place in elegant tile designs such as center pieces to larger ceramic tile patterns, entryway tiled floors, kitchen backsplashes, bathroom tiled floors, tiled bathtubs, fireplace mantles, and other tile covered surfaces.
