Terra Artesana's Mexican copper vases are handcrafted sheets of copper, artfully designed and created by artisans of Santa Clara del Cobre, a small town situated in Michoaca, central Mexico. Santa Clara del Cobre is so-called because many people living there are dedicated to the production of hand hammered copper crafts, using traditional methods originating with the indigenous Purépecha in prehistoric times. Today, the high quality craft continues with a wide range of copper work in the form of bowls, cups, spoons, forks, ladles, crucifixes and many other crafts. While all pieces are hand hammered, some have that original rustic appearance while others are smooth. The copper crafts of Santa Clara are now world famous, and the artisans are rightly proud of the superb work they produce.
